Convicted Merrill banker killer sued
The 2003 murder of wealthy Merrill Lynch investment banker Robert Kissel came to be known as the "milkshake murder" because prosecutors said his wife, Nancy, fed him a drug-laced milkshake, bludgeoned him to death with a metal ornament in their luxury apartment, then hid the body in a rolled-up rug stashed in a storage locker.
Jane Kissel Clayton — Robert's sister and the guardian of his three children — filed a writ Wednesday in the High Court seeking damages from Nancy Kissel. Another writ was filed by Robert Kissel's family lawyer David Hoare on behalf of the dead man's estate.
Nancy Kissel is serving a life sentence and appealing her conviction. She has alleged that her husband was an abusive workaholic who frequently indulged in alcohol and cocaine.
